Physicians at The Foot Institute – Leduc concentrate on the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our podiatrists devote about 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and in fact quite a number podiatry programmes are located within these academic institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have acquired comprehensive medical instruction with an emphasis on complications regarding the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to care for problems varying from general disorders such as fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are more complicated like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have considerable surgical education which furnish them the expertise necessary to execute surgery on those issues that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute additionally have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or perform other tasks.
