Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and several podiatry training programs are contained inside these institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another 1 to 3 years.

Upon the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have received extensive medical instruction with an importance on problems regarding the feet and ankles. They are trained to address problems extending from general problems for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are more perplexing such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have extensive surgical education which give them the expertise necessary to execute surgery on those complications that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors additionally have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait irregularities empowers a Podiatric doctor to design footwear and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and reduce the chances of a large number of problems which the feet generally encounter.
